Dawn D. Boyer, Ph.D. finished her doctor of philosophy studies May 2013 at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA in Education (Occupational & Technical Studies, with a concentration in Training & Development in Human Resources). Her dissertation is entitled, ‘Competencies of Human Resources Practitioners within the Government Contracting Industry,’ which identifies unique KSAs for Human Resources Managers working for federal level government contracting companies.She is a Mentor at the Small Business Administration, Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) where she consults mentees with goals of starting businesses of their own.

Dr. Boyer works with entrepreneurs to write business plans, as well as helping them protect their business from liabilities with human resources consulting for employment law and compliance. She assists business owners working on developing their brand and marketing plans within social media marketing, planning, and management. She has worked with government contractors, non-profit organizations, private, and publicly traded clients in the last five years writing business plans, analyzing human resources practices and procedures, as well as organizing and/advising business network groups.

 

She is well-versed in Social Media, with 8,800 connections on LinkedIn, and manages Social Media company pages on Facebook for several entities, as well as regular contributor to the Hampton Roads, VA, Inside Business weekly newspaper for the "Ask the Expert" column (Business and Career Topics), and recently was one of 12 women recognized as Business Women of the Year for 2013. Dr. Boyer is the author of 50 books on the topics of Business and Career Search Practices, Women’s Studies, and quotes for self-improvement (‘2,000+’ and ‘3,000+’ series),
